2 months of work instead of 9 months on the site GLT Delta Kft. was commissioned to build the cooling centre for the University Hospital in Regensburg. To implement this complex system, we needed well-functioning, smooth-running logistics and transparent documentation. We faced many difficulties during the project. We pre-assessed and resolved any errors that may have occurred during on-site work. A big puzzle was how to bring in a machine weighing 1 tonne between the many pipes of the already installed system. Moreover, we are talking about a very complex building services engineering system with a lot of fittings. We installed 900 metres of pipes in the centre, mostly large diameter ones (DN 80–DN 700). Due to the huge dimensions and weights, it was not possible to suspend loads from the ceiling, so we designed and manufactured the support structures to be adjusted on-site. The project was made even more difficult by the fact that we had to carry out installation jobs at a height of 5–6 m inside the building. We had 8 staff on the site working non-stop. The project, originally planned to take 9 months, was completed in 2 months on-site with the help of the GLT prefabricated system, and the number of defects was also minimised.
