Short deadlines, complex systems Our task was to provide a solution for the entire building services engineering needs in the new 5,000 m2 hall of Honsa Kft. located in Pécs, a company producing car parts. This included the construction and commissioning of the heating and cooling, ventilation, water, sewerage, drainage and gas systems, for which we were given a total of 7 months. Before starting production, the 3D design of the air handling system was completed after scanning the existing, structurally complete hall, together with the production drawing of the ductwork and the 3D assembly drawing required for assembly. These were used as the basis for the prefabricated, millimetre-precise air duct pieces, which fitted in place perfectly on-site. The installation of the large, pre-insulated air ducts, located at a height of 9 metres had to be carried out in such a way that the insulation would not get damaged during crane operations, installation and construction. The 5 m high rotating drum air handling unit had to be assembled on site in 3 days and then lifted onto the 9 m high roof with a crane, one element at a time. We used a special 70-tonne crane for this purpose. On-site implementation took a total of 7 months. No extra or additional work was necessary, despite the changes made during the course of the project. Since then, we have reconstructed and maintained several older mechanical systems on the client’s premises. We have developed a key supplier relationship with the client.
